Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel YING SHUN (43,990gt, built 2013) suffered an engine failure south of Madagascar on 18 February 2025.

Repairs could not be carried out by the crew and salvage tug POSH FALCON was contracted to provide towage assistance.

The convoy is now en route to Hong Hai in Vietnam and is expected to arrive in early May.

YING SHUN,  a bulk carrier, is on a laden voyage from Montevideo, Uruguay to Hong Hai, Vietnam, to where the vessel is being towed.

It is possible that a general average claim will be made against cargo insurers as a result of this incident.
