WAN HAI 272 AND SANTA LOUKIA

Reports have been received that Singapore flag vessel WAN HAI 272 (16,776gt, built 2011) was in collision with Malta flag vessel SANTA LOUKIA (16,889gt, built 2015) yesterday outside Bangkok port.
Both vessels are containerships, and both suffered damage to cargo decks. WAN HAI 272 is reported to be either entangled with a buoy or aground. Three tugs are in attendance.
SANTA LOUKIA, despite damage, was able to berth in Bangkok, the vessel’s intended port of destination. SANTA LOUKIA had previously called in Singapore.
WAN HAI 272 had sailed from Laem Chabang on 25 January 2023 and had previously called at ports in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan.
