Reports have been received that Cypriot flag vessel NCL SALTEN (9,990gt, built 2002) ran aground earlier today near Trondheim, Norway.
There are no reports of injuries of pollution, although the vessel is aground close to a house and this has apparently caused some damage to a heating pipe.
NSC SALTEN will require towage assistance.
The vessel operates between ports in Germany, Netherlands and Norway. Prior to this incident NCL SALTEN had sailed from Averoy, Norway, yesterday.
