Further to our earlier advisory, we understand that the owners of the MV ONE HENRY HUDSON have now declared General Average following the fire incident at the Port of Los Angeles on 21 November 2025.
It is reported that the vessel remains under the control of contracted salvors, with ongoing hot-spot monitoring, boundary cooling, and controlled inspection of the affected bays. Firefighting teams have confirmed that the blaze is fully contained, although residual risks associated with heat, smoke and damaged cargo continue to be assessed.
The vessel was moved from its berth after the initial response and is currently lying at an anchorage outside the main port basin under the coordination of the U.S. Coast Guard. Salvage teams are preparing for the removal and inspection of damaged containers once conditions allow. Early assessments continue to indicate that a significant number of containers in the affected lower and mid-deck areas may have suffered fire, heat, smoke or water damage.
Cargo Interests are now being contacted to provide the necessary General Average and Salvage security to enable the release of their cargo once discharge operations commence. The appointed Average Adjusters are coordinating the collection of securities and related documentation.
All port safety restrictions, including the earlier shelter-in-place orders and navigational closures, have been lifted. Terminal operations across the Port of Los Angeles have returned to normal, although delays to cargo release and onward movement remain likely.
We will continue to monitor developments and issue further updates as more information becomes available.
