Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel INVICTUS (28,746gt, built 2021) suffered an engine room fire yesterday whilst sailing approximately 508 nautical miles east of Mogadishu.

The fire was extinguished but one crew member was injured and received assistance from the Indian Navy.

Some flooding of the engine room occurred and the vessel is currently drifting in a westerly direction, with the rest of the crew still on board.

INVICTUS, a product tanker, is on a voyage from Beira in Mozambique to Fujairah in UAE. The vessel sailed from Beira on 14 April.
