Reports have been received that Singaporean flag vessel CS LEADER (14,276gt, built 2010) suffered an engine failure on 26 November 2024, whilst crossing the Atlantic.
The general cargo vessel is on a voyage from Guayaquil, Ecuador to Gdansk, Poland.
The vessel’s crew members could not repair the damage, and the ship owners requested towage assistance.
Tug BOKA FORWARD attended the scene and the convoy is now en route to Gdansk, with an eta of 17 December.
This incident may give rise to claims for salvage and/or general average.
