From China to South Korea
It has been reported that a fire broke out in the cargo hold of Marshall Islands flag vessel CAPE TOWN EAGLE (36353gt, built 2015), in the port of Ulsan, South Korea earlier today.
The vessel, a bulk carrier, has on board a cargo of 5,700 tons of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) which has caught fire. The fire is being tackled by several fire fighters and engines.
Prior to calling in Ulsan, CAPE TOWN EAGLE had sailed from Weihai, China on 13 May 2023.
