Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel BLUEWAYS (27,011gt, built 1998) ran aground yesterday off Weihai, China.
The bulker had left Longyan port and dropped anchor. Due to strong winds and waves caused by typhoon “Muifa” in the East China Sea, the vessel’s anchor dragged.
The crew issued a distress signal, and all 25 seafarers were safely airlifted by SAR helicopter at around noon.
