Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel K.IRON MOUNTAIN (160,000t, built 2020) required towage assistance following an issue on board on 11 March 2022.
At the time the bulk carrier was off the coast of South Africa. Tug SA AMANDLA has responded and is understood to be approaching Cape Town.
It is possible that claims for Salvage and General Average will arise as a result of this incident.
