Reports have been received that Greek flag vessel FANEROMENI (36,396gt, built 2016) suffered a fire on board in the Arabian Sea East of Socotra earlier today.
The bulk carrier, on a voyage from Abu Dhabi to Port Elizabeth, issued a distress signal and requested medical assistance for an injured crew member. We understand that vessel was disabled.
