Reports have been received that Italian flag vessel PEPPINO BOTTIGLIERI (51,255gt built 2009) has run aground off Argentina
Professional salvors Tsavliris Salvage have been contracted on a Lloyd’s Open Form salvage contract to try to refloat the vessel.
The bulker is carrying a cargo of 73,305mt of soy beans and corn. The cargo was loaded in Argentina and is destined for discharge in Vietnam.
Before the cargo can be delivered, cargo insurers will be expected to provide salvage security. It is also likely that general average will be declared.
