Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel NAVIOS ORBITER (39,727gt, built 2004) suffered mechanical breakdown earlier this week in the North Atlantic.
The bulk carrier, which had sailed from Lisbon on 12th July 2017, required salvage assistance. The vessel’s owners entered into an LOF salvage contract with Tsavliris Salvage.
Before the cargo can be delivered, the Salvors will require security for their claim. It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
