Reports have been received that Russian flag vessel VOLZHSKIY 45 (4,069gt built 1991) has run aground today on the Rover Don.
The shipowners are preparing a salvage plan. We understand that the vessel is en route from Rostov to Turkey carrying a cargo of corn.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
