Reports have been received that St Vincent flag vessel FAIRWIND (9,764gt built 1985) has suffered main engine damage on her current voyage from Casablanca to Samsun.
We understand that the vessel was able to reach Augusta as a port of refuge. The vessel will probably be shifted to a repair berth for further investigation.
It is possible that a general average claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel.
