Reports have been received that Maltese flag vessel CHEYENNE (4,976gt built 1995) has run aground following a collision with Cambodian flag vessel ANTARES (4.008gt built 1972).

The accident occurred late on Saturday at the port of Azov when CHEYENNE was leaving the port on a voyage towards Ancona. Refloating efforts were reported to be planned shortly.

It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
