Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel IOANNA G (9640gt built 1979) has suffered an engine failure today in the Istanbul Strait.
Repairs cannot be effected by the crew and we understand that the casualty will be towed to Tuzla where repairs will be undertaken.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
