Reports have been received that German flag vessel FORESTER (4110gt built 1996) suffered an engine failure off Spain on 22nd December.
The vessel, en route from Garrucha to Sweden with stone, has been taken in tow by a Spanish salvage tug and we understand the tug and tow are proceeding to Algeciras.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
