Reports have been received that Cyprus flag vessel STADT HANNOVER (3978gt built 1994) has run aground off the Nothern Bahamas today.
Several salvage companies are understood to be showing an interest in the stricken vessel. Discussions continue with the vessel’s owners and the Bahamas Government.
It is likely that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
