Reports have been received that Russian flag vessel MARKOVO (10967gt built 1979) has suffered a fire on board at Zhanghuabang Port, China.
The vessel was undergoing repair works when her cargo of sodium sulphate caught fire. It is understood that welding was taking place, against all usual safety regulations.
