Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel XIN HAI TONG 39 (33,010gt, built 2011) suffered a fire on board whilst at Aqaba, Jordan on 30 May 2024.
The fire started in cargo hold number 5 and, according to the vessel’s master, was caused by the stevedores.
As a result of the incident, part of the cargo was damaged by fire and also by water used to extinguish the fire. General Average (GA) has been declared.
We are assisting the insurers of part of the cargo that was on board XIN HAI TONG 39.
