Reports have been received that Sierra Leone flag vessel SUPER SARKAS (17,431gt, built 2002) was struck by a ballistic missile yesterday whilst at Odesa.
The vessel, a bulk carrier, has on board a cargo of corn and soya beans.
Panama flag vessel MSC LEVANTE F (9,957gt built 2006) is also reported to have been damaged in the attack.
The missile is believed to have been launched by Russian forces.
Prior to arrival in Odesa, SUPER SARKAS had been an anchor off Istanbul whereas MSC LEVANTE F had sailed from Asyaport on 25 February.
There was also damage to the port facilities and two workers there are reported to have been injured in the attack.
