Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel EVANTHIA (32,474gt, built 2005) suffered an engine breakdown in the South Atlantic on 17 January 2025.

The crew was unable to repair the fault and towage assistance was requested. Tug UMKHUSELI was sent to the scene and a tow line connected on 20 January.

The convoy is now expected in Richards Bay, South Africa, today. EVANTHIA had originally sailed from Paranagua, Brazil on 04 January.
