Reports have been received that Comoros flag vessel AMNAH (3,999gt, built 1996) has partially capsized at the Marport Container Terminal at Ambarli earlier today.

All crew were evacuated without injury, although three stevedores suffered minor injuries. Pollution has been reported and booms placed around the vessel.

The vessel was carrying out cargo operations when it suddenly lost stability, listed to starboard and began to take on water.

As can be seen from the photo above the vessel is now lying on its side next to the quay.

AMNAH had arrived in Ambarli on 22 December having previously called at Derince, El Dekheila, Alexandria and Benghazi.
