Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel CHANG MIN (31,768gt built 2013) suffered a fire on board on 20 June 2025 whilst berthed at ENL Terminal, Apapa Port, Lagos.

The vessel had loaded cargoes at ports in China, having called at Zhuhai, Zhangjiagang and Rizhao, sailing from Rizhao on 07 May 2025. The cargoes were to be discharged at Lagos.

Following the fire, which began in a cargo hold, the vessel’s owners declared general average. Cargo owners and insurers are being asked to provide the usual general average securities before delivery can take place.
