Type
Collision & Fire

Voyage
Iraq to Zhoushan, China

Reports have been received that MT Front Eagle, laden with two million barrels of Iraqi crude oil, collided with MT Adalynn, which was in ballast, approximately 22 nautical miles off Khor Fakkan, United Arab Emirates on 16 June 2025. The Front Eagle was reportedly executing a starboard turn at a speed of 13.1 knots when it struck the aft port quarter of Adalynn, which was proceeding southeast at 4.8 knots.

Following the collision, Adalynn suffered severe structural damage and a major fire broke out on board. The entire crew of 24 from Adalynn were safely evacuated by the UAE Coast Guard and transported to Khor Fakkan Port. A fire was also observed on the deck of Front Eagle, though no pollution or injuries were reported on that vessel. It has been reported that Front Eagle was later listed as “not under command.”

The Front Eagle’s last port of call prior to the incident was Iraq, en route to Zhoushan, China. The Adalynn had just departed anchorage and was reportedly heading towards the Suez Canal.
