Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel GEM STAR (21,487gt built 2011) suffered an engine failure on 26 April 2025 whilst off the coast of Portugal.
The problem could not be rectified by the crew and tug ROMA has been contracted to provide towage assistance.
GEM STAR is on a voyage from Gulluk, Turkiye to Gdansk, Poland. The vessel had sailed from Gulluk on 09 April 2025.
