Reports have been received that Madeira flag vessel SOLONG (7,852gt, built 2005) was in collision with US flag vessel STENA IMMACULATE (29,854gt, built 2017) off the east coast of Northern England today.

STENA IMMACULATE, a tanker on a voyage from Agio Theodoroi, Greece to Killingholme, UK was at anchor at the time of the incident and is reported to be on fire as a result of the collision.
She is reported to have been carrying jet fuel for the US Department of Defense.

SOLONG, a containership trading between Grangemouth, UK and Rotterdam, Netherlands, was carrying 15 containers of sodium cyanide among its cargo, according to a report and is also on fire.

Severe damage has been suffered by both vessels. There are reports that the crews on board both ships have been rescued although 1 crew member is said to still be missing.
