Reports have been received that Panama flag containership ISA STAR (6,204gt, built 2000) was abandoned by its crew and is sinking or has sunk in the southern Red Sea today.
The cause of the incident is unknown at this time.
The vessel’s last ports of call were Marghera in Italy, sailing on 10 November, and Tuzla in Turkiye, sailing on 02 October.
