Reports have been received that Sierra Leone flag vessel KING RICH (7,916gt, built 1990) ran aground yesterday off Bai Huong, Quang Nam, Vietnam.
The vessel, an elderly chemical tanker, has sustained hull damage and is reportedly in danger of sinking. The local authorities reported that no crew members are on board.
Because of heavy seas the authorities are at present unable to board the vessel to assess the situation more closely.
