Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel FREMANTLE HIGHWAY suffered a fire on board off the Dutch coast earlier today.

Twenty-three crew members have been evacuated by helicopters and a rescue vessel. There are reports that one crew member lost their life and others have been injured.

Emergency services are in attendance around the vessel.

FREMANTLE HIGHWAY has around 2,900 vehicles on board. The fire reportedly had its origins on a cargo deck. The vessel is still on fire and has developed a list.

FREEMANTLE HIGHWAY was we understand due to return eastwards via Suez. The vessel had made the following port calls prior to today:

Bremerhaven – 25 July
Zeebrugge – 23 July
Portbury – 19 July
Livorno – 12 July
Piraeus – 02 July
Derince – 30 June
Hitachinaka – 05 June
Omaezaki – 04 June
Yokohama – 30 May
