Reports have been received that Italian flag vessel GRANDE SENEGAL (47,232gt, built ) ran aground on a reef off Arrecife, Mexico, on 22 July 2023.
The vessel is still aground, and the Mexican Navy is investigating. A salvage tug is also in attendance.
GRANDE SENEGAL is a RORO carrying vehicles and containers from Altamira in Mexico to Brunswick in the US.
It is possible that claims for Salvage and/or General Average may arise as a result of this incident.
