Reports have been received that Russian flag vessel BEREG NADEZHDY (12,717gt built 1982) has run aground near Kildin Island on the Kola Gulf.
The vessel has a crew of 29 on board. The crew will be evacuated and an additional three vessels are being sent to try to recover the vessel itself.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
