Reports have been received that Antigua and Barbuda flag vessel LODUR (35,881gt, built 2003) ran aground off Freetown, Sierra Leone on 16 May 2024.
The containership is still aground and the ship owners have now entered into an LOF salvage contract to free the vessel and cargo. General Average has also been declared.
Before this incident LODUR had called at Conakry on 12 May, Tanger Med on 01 May and Algeciras on 19 April.
