Reports have been received that Indian flag vessel SSL BRAHMAPUTRA (39,941gt, built 2012) suffered a fire on board earlier today in the Arabian Sea around position lat 21 13 45N, long 066 18 45E.
The container vessel had sailed from Nhava Sheva on 30 December 2023, having previously called at Hazira and Mundra. SSL BRAHMAPUTRA was destined for Jebel Ali, UAE, at the time of the incident.
Vessels in the vicinity have been asked to keep a sharp look out and assist if possible, reporting to Mumbai MRCC.
