Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel SL TWEETY (27,332gt, built 2003) suffered a fire on board earlier today whilst off Mersin.
The fire broke out in a cargo hold and was initially tackled by the crew. The vessel has requested assistance and is currently at the Mersin anchorage.
Prior to the incident the SL TWEETY, a containership, had called at Nansha (sailing 09 May), Beilun (06 May), Busan (01 May) and Qianwan (27 April).
