Reports have been received that Belize flag vessel UNIWISDOM (8,036gt, built 1998) was in collision with another vessel off China on 30 October 2021.
As a result of the accident UNIWISDOM suffered structural damage. The vessel has deviated to Zhoushan to await further instructions and investigation.
The ship owners have declared general average. Before cargoes can be delivered, cargo insurers will be expected to provide average guarantees.
UNIWISDOM is carrying general cargo to Thailand and Indonesia. The vessel had sailed from Lianyungang on 28 October 2021.
