Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel CRIMSON POLARIS (39,910gt, built 2008) broke in two today near Hachinohe, Japan.
There have been no reports of injuries but the vessel is understood to be leaking oil.
CRIMSON POLARIS is a woodchip carrier. Prior to arriving off Hachinohe the vessel had sailed from Sriracha, Thailand on 30 July 2021.
