Reports have been received that Vietnamese flag vessel VTB STAR (16764gt, built 1998) ran aground off Ba Don in Quang Binh Province, Vietnam, yesterday.
The bulk carriers reportedly broke free from its moorings and was swept by strong winds until it drifted into shallow waters.
The Gianh Port Border Guard Station and Quang Binh Border Guards have been unable as yet to dispatch vessels to assist because of bad weather conditions.
