Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel IZUMO (14,162gt, built 2007) suffered a fire on board at the general cargo berth jetty no. 6, in Chittagong Port, Bangladesh yesterday.
The Chittagong port authorities initially tried to extinguish the fire but without success. The vessel, which is carrying steel coils and other goods from China, has been moved to an outer anchorage until the fire is brought under control.
