Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel AEOLOS (19,882gt built 2001), which sailed from Turkey on 04 January 2020, suffered rudder failure today in the Myrtoan Sea.
The region is currently experiencing winds up to Beaufort force 10. A tug has been sent from Piraeus to provide assistance.
AEOLOS has on board a cargo of iron ore loaded in Diliskelisi, Turkey and is destined for Argentina.
