Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel DIAMOND HIGHWAY (60,175gt, built 2004) caught fire yesterday near Reed Bank, South China Sea.
The crew have abandoned the vessel. It is understood that they were rescued by bulk carrier CAMPOS LEADER.
As of this morning, the vessel is still on fire. DIAMOND HIGHWAY’s next country of call is Taiwan. She sailed from Emden on 12 May 2019, and Bremerhaven on 10 May 2019. Prior to this she had called in Belgium and ports in the US.
