Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel TINA (39,126gt, built 2000) suffered engine failure yesterday off the coast of South Africa.
The bulk carrier, which sailed from Rio Grande on 19th August, has been taken in tow by tug PACIFIC DILIGENCE. It is understood she will arrive in Durban, as a port of refuge, on 18th September.
This incident may lead to general average and/or salvage claims against the insurers of the cargo on board.
