Reports have been received that South Korean flag vessel SUN PEONY (5,483gt, built 1998) suffered a machinery failure off Hong Kong on 1st January 2017.
The vessel required assistance and a Lloyd’s Open Form salvage contract has been signed with salvors Ardent Maritime.
The insurers of the cargo on board will be expected to provide salvage security before the cargo can be delivered. It is also likely that general average will be declared.
