Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel SBI FLAMENCO (44,200gt, built 2015) suffered an engine failure on 29th January 2016 after experiencing problems with cylinder no 5.
At the time the bulk carrier was 35 miles North West of Cherbourg. The casualty was taken in tow by salvage tug ABEILLE BOURBON towards Le Havre.
SBI FLAMENCO was on a voyage from Riga, Latvia to Praia Mole, Brazil. She has on board a cargo of 76,922mt coal.
