Reports have been received that Madeira flag vessel NORTHERN VOLITION (27,437gt, built 2005) had to call for assistance on 23rd November, whilst off the coast of Vietnam, after suffering a fire in a cargo hold.
Two tugs were sent to assist with fire-fighting. The vessel will now call at Phu My to offload the affected containers.
NORTHERN VOLITION was on a voyage from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Shanghai, China. Previously she had called at ports in Indonesia.
