Reports have been received that Barbados flag vessel SKOG (4,462gt, built 1991) is under tow after suffering engine problems and taking on water off the north coast of the UK today.
Shetland Coastguard also sent a rescue helicopter and two life boats to assist the casualty.
The crew has remained on board and pumps have been transferred on board SKOG by the rescue helicopter.
The vessel is currently under tow and was reported earlier today to be around 6.5 nautical miles from the island of Papa Westray on Orkney.
SKOG’s last reported port of call was Fiborgtangen from where she sailed on 21st November 2015. She was originally destined for Clydeport.
