Reports have been received that Antigua flag vessel MELL SPRINGWOOD (16,137gt, built 2011 ran aground off the Marshall Islands on 8th May 2015.
The vessel is on a voyage from Taiwan and Hong Kong to various ports in Micronesia. She is reported to have sailed from Majuro Atoll two days before the accident.
The vessel’s owners have declared general average. Cargo insurers will be asked to provide general average security before the cargo can be delivered.
