Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel BANZAI (38,938gt, built 2002) suffered an explosion in cargo hold number 1 recently.
The accident happened shortly after the bulk carrier left her load port Rio Grande carrying a cargo of wheat. The vessel has returned to her load port.
