Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel SAN FELIPE (90,000gt, built 2014 was in collision with Maltese flag vessel AL RIFFA (141,077gt, built 2012) at Port Klang today.
As result of the incident a fire broke out on both vessels. AL RIFFA was moved from the area to prevent further spread of the fire. No injuries were reported. Fire fighting tugs have been in attendance.
SAN FELIPE was only recently launched from Okpo and had called at ports in China and in Singapore. AL RIFFA is on a voyage from Europe and ports in the Middle East.
