Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel SILA (5688gt, built2010) suffered gearbox damage off Salalah recently.
As a result professional Salvors Tsavliris were engaged on the terms of a Lloyd’s Open Form salvage contract.
Salvage security is required from cargo owners/insurers. It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
The vessel is on voyage from Kandla, India to Psachna, Greece. She has on board a cargo of around 6,200mt of soya bean meal.
